Brody's Scribbles... What the DOMA Repeal Vote Really Means

WEST HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA -- The Senate Judiciary Committee has voted to repeal the anti-gay Defense of Marriage Act. Now it moves to a Senate that's hostile to marriage equality -- but that's actually okay. I'm Matt Baume at the American Foundation for Equal Rights, and welcome to a special episode of Marriage News Watch:

The American Supreme Court has ruled 14 times (already) that marriage in a basic right? Why in hell's name didn't it only need to do that once?

Small minded bigoted hateful prejudiced people is the reason. There are continual streams of people who just cannot tolerate loving relationships between any but their own peer group, and seek to destroy that basic right for others.

Anyone care to wager that the 15th ruling won't be the last time the Supreme Court is asked to rule on this right?
