By Mark Singer (Washington DC) NOV 1 | The Arkansas Matters website, KARK NBC4, is reporting that the Independence County Arkansas school board member from the Midland School District, Clint McCance has formally submitted his letter of resignation. In a brief update, NBC4 News reported:
It's official, embattled Midland School Board member Clint McCance has resigned.
His resignation was formally accepted by letter this morning in an executive meeting of the school board. Their vote was unanimous.
Late Sunday, the board received the official letter of resignation from McCance. He did not attend this morning's meeting. Click here to read the letter.
McCance came under fire last week for a Facebook post encouraging Gay students to kill themselves.
The school board will have another meeting soon about filling the seat left by McCance. They hope to have the new member in place by December.
