Editorial-- Christian Hypocrites Strike Again

via LGBTQNation
By Brody Levesque | WASHINGTON -- I read over at LGBTQNation that a [ alleged ] pro-family values Florida Christian group was so upset by the presence of LGBTQ Americans enjoying an annual and 20 year old tradition of a holiday break at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, known as "Gay Day," that they hired an aeroplane to fly over the celebration 'warning' park goers and anyone else that- *gasp* GAY people were present.
Besides the disgust I felt over this naked display of Christian bigotry, what really annoyed me was upon further reflection and research, I found that the amount of money they spent on that display of ignorant hate would have fed 45 of their fellow Americans one hot meal a day for a month at an average cost of $5.00.
The math is quite simple really. The Florida Family Association spent $7,000 to fly banners over Orlando for 10 hours each day on Friday and Saturday that read, “Warning Gay Day at Disney 6/4.”
Divide that amount by 31 days and you get the sum of of $225.80 per day. According to the DC Central Kitchen here in Washington D. C., which feeds the homeless, shut-ins, elderly, and other programmes for the disadvantaged, the average cost of one nutritionally balanced hot meal per day is $5.00.
Okay, so now let's do the maths again and divide $255.80 by $5.00 shall we? 45 point 1, well since there's no 'point one' of a human being so lets just round it up to 45 human beings shall we?
When you consider that Joplin, Missouri suffered horrible devastation by the tornado last week or maybe factor in the recent spate of flooding in the American mid-west, this particular so-called family value christian organisation is little more than a grouping of pure bigots and hypocrites, who stagger the imagination when one realises how much better spent their $7,000 dollars would have been to assist Americans in desperate need as they recover from a natural disaster versus- well I think I have made my point haven't I?
