I fail to see any way in which "Christians pay for in freedom" just because the rights of LGBT people are recognized.
It is time that bigoted people like Tony Perkins and friends realised that their view of Christianity and their diminutive world view has been superseded by global recognition of equality.
Yes Tony, global equality does mean that it is okay for people to not believe the same as you and your band of village idiots who are still frightened of superstitions conceived in ignorance. Of course we understand you don't approve of abortion because you want to bring into the world the children born of ignorance and fear, and nurtured on superstition. What is worse however is that you want them to be servile to your way of thinking, if it is possible to call what you do as 'thinking.'
Recognising the rights of the freedom of sexual expression between consenting adults is in no way threatening to enlightened Christians who believe in Christ's message of, "Love one another."
You don't even need to believe in God to know that love is the only sane reason for existence, but in the bigots' case, sanity is not all that evident.
