Brody's Scribbles... Over The Top? Maybe Not In Light Of Recent Events

By Brody Levesque (Bethesda, Maryland) NOV 21 | A majority of the time I prefer to keep things on a level playing field that is respectful and where agreements or disagreements can be aired and discussed calmly, especially when particular subjects or bits of news are truly objectionable or outright onerous.
Intelligent discourse is a integral component to advancing Human and specifically LGBT equality rights.
But, after statements by the so-called "Family Values" organisations this past week, callously deriding hospital visitation rights guidelines for LGBT partners issued by the U. S. Department of Health & Human Services which are now effective, I am angered at the complete and utter lack of empathy on the part of these alleged Christians.
This past week as I watched a series of clips aired by those people and viewed by millions that essentially made LGBT persons non-people, I was angered again at the "Cherry-Picking" and the mentality of the "Bible" says its so thus it must be so" crowd.
The relentless onslaught of ant-Gay rhetoric is quite fatiguing, but, I found some respite in this humorous message from the YouTube channel of 'The Thinking Atheist' directed at those same pious Christiban elements in American society, not that they'll understand the irony nor even be capable of appreciating the satirical outlook contained in it.

I just wish the thinking atheist people would finish with something along the lines of,

"Of course you don't have to believe any of the bible."

or,

Religions: It gets better, without them.

i constantly wonder if it is more effective (and efficient) to try to convert christians to be more homophilic (hehe! sounds bloody!) or to attack christianity as we know it and try to destroy it ...

somehow i always seem to think the former (as onerous as it is) is the better way?

PS - would you mind if i steal that amazing photo? :)
