Brody's Notes... Join the Foundation and Judy Shepard at Telluride Gay Ski Week!

DENVER- Feb 5 | Looking for a way to enjoy some winter sports, a series of LGBT social events, and a chance to help the Matthew Shepard Foundation?

Look no further than Telluride Gay Ski Week, in beautiful Telluride, Colorado from Feb. 20th to the 27th!

Judy Shepard will appear at several events in Telluride open to the public on Feb. 23 and 24, including a public address, a book signing for "The Meaning of Matthew," and a special benefit dinner banquet to benefit the Foundation's ongoing program work to Erase Hate.

The Foundation's special Ski Week events begin with a benefit dinner for the Matthew Shepard Foundation at the Capella Telluride’s Idarado Ballroom. Tickets for that event, available online via www.MatthewShepard.org, are $200 and include dinner, an autographed copy of “The Meaning of Matthew,” a pre-dinner champagne reception, and admission to the Blue Ball dance party after the dinner. The reception begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Judy will be offering her unique perspective on the legacy of Matthew's murder and more than a decade of tireless activism by her family, in a speech at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24 at the Michael D. Palm Theatre. The event is free and the public is invited to attend.

Following her talk and a question-and-answer period, Judy will attend a book signing for her recently released memoir, “The Meaning of Matthew: My Son’s Murder in Laramie, and a World Transformed." That event at Between The Covers Bookstore lasts from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24.
