Brody's Scribbles... Irish Gay marriage ad becomes a surprise YouTube hit

By Brody Levesque (Washington D.C.) Sept 6 | As arguments rage back and forth across the American political landscape concerning Gay marriage, and with the current anti-gay marriage law referendum in Maine growing more acrimonious; From the other-side of the Atlantic comes this ad from the Irish gay marriage group MarriagEquality, which has become a worldwide hit on YouTube.
According to an article by Jessica Green writing for Britain's pinkNews; "Apparently it is spreading like wildfire. People from the UK, Ireland, America and all over the world have seen it. It's one of those things that once you've seen it, it stays with you." (Full Article Here.) Green also stated that; "Currently, gay marriage and civil partnerships are not legal in Ireland but the Irish parliament is to debate proposed legislation on civil partnerships this month. If passed, it will grant gay and lesbian couples legal recognition in areas such as pensions, social security, property rights, tax, succession and the payment of maintenance. However, various advocacy groups are becoming more vocal in their calls for gay marriage.
The government has ruled it out, claiming that it would require a change to the country's constitution and a potentially divisive referendum."
Does that sound familiar to any of you here in the U.S. I wonder?

I picked this up too. And, at the same time I picked up a bigoted fat brat in the USA who thinks at apparently 11 years old that she knows all about marriage.

I'm comparing and contrasting them on my blog!

What I do not understand is why it matters so much to the bigots. But asking one, as I once did, led to a "because it matters" argument, and he took his ball away and went home.

To me giving kids bigoted views is tantamount to child abuse.
