Alabama Coach Recorded During Ant-Gay Classroom Rant Suspended

ROGERSVILLE, AL -- The Alabama public school high teacher and football coach who was secretly recorded making derogatory comments about the First Lady and gays in a class he was teaching has been suspended.
Bob Grisham, the head football coach at Lauderdale County High School who also teaches psychology and driver's education teacher, was suspended for 10 days without pay.
The Lauderdale County School District Board meeting in executive session Monday voted to suspend Grisham also requiring him to attend mandatory sensitivity classes and meet with the assistant superintendent of schools once a month. The board has also removed him from his 5th period psychology class, and he will be given a different assignment.
Speaking to WAFF48 News after the board vote, two persons expressed opposing views with one parent saying;
"I think it's fair because I'm a big supporter of Mr. Grisham. I've known him for years," said Lee Barclay. "He's taught my children. My son played football under him. He's a good Christian man; he just misspoke that day."
Another, disagreed saying that the punishment meted out wasn't harsh enough;
"I think he should be suspended more days than they gave him because we all have thoughts and thinking in our mind but don't say it out loud to kids," said Christine Perkins.
Board members were unable to comment on the situation. However, they did release a statement saying they were disappointed in the actions and statements of Grisham.
