Brody's Scribbles... Regarding Rainbow Flag Flying High In Richmond VA- "This offends me as a Christian."

By Brody Levesque | WASHINGTON DC -- In honour of June being designated as LGBTQ Pride month coupled with yesterday's actions by the White House in unveiling a new LGBTQ Web Portal and President Barack Obama's annual proclamation celebrating Pride, the Federal Reserve Bank in Richmond, Virginia, at the request of  PRISM, an employee LGBT group started at the Richmond bank a year ago, the bank's chairman authorised the Rainbow Flag be flown just under the national standard for the entire month.
Apparently though, that upset a faction of Christonazis who promptly complained and demanded that the flag be taken down. According to the so called Christian news service, 'One News Now,' which is operated as a division of the Mississippi based American Family Association- a Southern Poverty Law Centre designated 'Hate Group,' an employee of the bank wrote an e-mail that stated in part:
"For the past five or six years, the homosexual agenda has been pushed down our throats. [The bank president and vice president] have initiated this agenda. This offends me as a Christian."
Really? Offended as a Christian?
Look, here's the deal folks- I have yet to see any LGBTQ person bully, beat, or harass a Christian for the way they live their life. Yet, at every turn, I hear how "evil" homosexuals are attempting to take over the country/globe and "force" acceptance of the "deviant homosexual agenda."
It's sickening the way these so called religious types spend all of their time and money focusing on strictly private affairs between consenting adults. Consider this for a moment- The Family Foundation of Virginia's Executive Director tells OneNewsNow; "We think the Federal Reserve ought to be focused on the economy rather than focusing on special rights."
Special Rights???? She goes on to say that more than just bank employees are offended.
"We know of businesses that are actually housed within the Federal Reserve building that I [bet] are very unhappy today," she suggests. "So it's going to be interesting to get the feedback from them."
But aside from the workers, she says the flag flies in the face of most Virginians. "In Virginia, this is not a stand that should be taken. We've as a state said we are not going to support gay marriage, for example, in our constitution, and we've been very clear on issues of gay rights," the pro-family advocate notes. "So it's disappointing to see such a large flag flying, as if it's something that this commonwealth supports."
Honestly- all this hubris is focused on bashing LGBTQ persons and then there's the money they spend on anti-gay messages as well, let's not forget that money shall we? Recently the city of Joplin, Missouri was devastated by tornadoes that left a six-mile swath of destruction ravaging homes, businesses, schools, day cares, churches- you name it. The damage to that community was so bad as to warrant a visit from the President of the United States who promised the people of Joplin that they'd receive Federal Assistance to rebuild their now shattered community.
I will cite this is an example of just how ignorant the so-called Christians are and how bigoted they appear. All of the money that they spend on anti-gay messages could be actually better spent on disasters like Joplin with real benefits for their fellow Americans in a way that actually upholds the premise of their so-called religious beliefs.
Tragic isn't it?

It's not just tragic, it is downright un-Christian.
