By Mark Singer | Richmond, Virginia -- A conservative Republican member of the Virginia State General Assembly has sent the Federal Reserve Bank in Richmond, Virginia, a letter warning the bank that its display of the LGBTQ Rainbow Flag is a class six felony.
Prince William County delegate Robert Marshall wrote the bank's president Jeffrey M. Lacker, stating that in his estimation, [ Marshall's ]  the homosexual behavior “celebrated” by the bank flying a Pride Flag “undermines the American economy” and is a class six felony in Virginia.
Marshall was referring to the state's 'Crimes Against Nature' statue which reads in part:
§ 18.2-361. Crimes against nature; penalty.
A. If any person carnally knows in any manner any brute animal, or carnally knows any male or female person by the anus or by or with the mouth, or voluntarily submits to such carnal knowledge, he or she shall be guilty of a Class 6 felony, except as provided in subsection B.
According to The Richmond Times-Dispatch, Marshall is quoted as writing:
“The Richmond Fed’s endorsement of costly, anti-social, immoral behavior is rejected by 6,000 years of Western Religious and moral teaching,” writes Marshall, who is among the General Assembly’s most conservative members and has long been outspoken on gay-rights issues. “You want the American people to trust your [judgment] in economic matters when your spokesperson celebrates an attack on public morals?”
The paper also reported that Sally Green, the bank’s first vice president and chief operating officer, said earlier this week,
“We are flying the pride flag as an example of our commitment to the values of acceptance and inclusion.”
The flag is being flown at the request of PRISM, a Richmond Federal Reserve employee's group representing gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender employees and allies.

I'm not one to split hairs (ha ha ha, ROFLMAO) but it seems to me that invoking that law would only be possible against the person putting up that flag and only if he/she is actually proven to have 'committed' the act described.

Furthermore, there is no valid connection between that law and public morality; the only connection is public bigotry.
