Brody's Scribbles... Commentary On Today's Edition Of BNS

By Desmond Rutherford (Adelaide, Australia) MAR 15 | The issues raised in Brody's Notes and Scribbles on Monday 14th March 2011 are overwhelming in their intensity and exposure of the sheer injustice, hypocrisy, and denigration imposed on LGBT people as well as the misplaced imposition of religious values being forced on the people of the USA in particular and by extension to other communities across the planet.
The sheer quantity of the discussions from everything, from Tim Trent's valuable in depth look at the Gay Manifeso (1971) to the implications of the racism revealed by Brody's editorial is staggering.
As I recently stated, it seems from research that no nation has not reversed its laws on homosexual acceptance at some time. In other words, the world's societies and cultures have consistently shown themselves as being incapable of accepting sexuality as a birthright, as being of no significant threat to anyone, and indeed as inalienable right of choice just as much as genetic determination, being an individual right as to whom to love and be loved.
Removal of the right to choose one's sexuality is just as evil as denouncing the genetic determination of sexuality. No one, whether church or state, has any right to deny the sexual, physical expression of the love of consenting adults.
If the anti-LGBT religious fanatic, right wing has their way, we will soon be under attempts to eradicate the freedoms, all the freedoms we have achieved since 1967. What is worse is that the reverse arguments to sanity will in fact set the human race back into a period of inquisition denying the very enlightenment of the human race. This is very dangerous and I am not saying this to be alarmist, but we do need to make our retaliation to the insanity, peaceful, rational and consistent at all levels of our community to resist this intimidation, this ongoing bullying, this denial of human rights.
Brody's Notes and Scribbles is to my mind attempting to do that, and I just need to take the time to absorb it all.
