By Mark Singer (Washington DC) JAN 10 | As the American nation starts the healing process after the violence of this past weekend, there seems to a conclusive agreement that there's a very pressing need to eliminate or at least turn down vitriolic rhetoric in the media.
This morning, the ladies from ABC's "The View" discussed the assassination attempt in Tucson, Arizona involving Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and the rhetoric from Sarah Palin whose political action committee had used rifle crosshairs on a campaign graphic advertisement targeting Giffords. Also discussed was the unfortunate timing on the same day of the shooting by the The New York Post newspaper, that ran a picture of the NFL's Colts quarterback, Peyton Manning, who was depicted with a rifle gunsight-cross-hair superimposed over his face on its frontpage.
