Brody's Scribbles... "Homosexual Activist Groups Are Pushing A Lifestyle That Kills"

By Brody Levesque (Washington DC) DEC 3 | "So if we’re looking to start trimming federal spending, here’s a way we can save the taxpayers a quick $26 billion. AIDS funding dwarfs funding for Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, prostate cancer, diabetes, heart disease, hepatitis B and hepatitis C combined. Yet we know what causes AIDS, and how to prevent it, but we don’t know how to prevent the other diseases. Since we know the cause of AIDS and the way to slow down the epidemic, if we spend any taxpayer funds at all it ought to be on education- don’t start engaging in homosexual behavior, and if you have started, stop."
I'll have to admit, I was stunned and left speechless at the very callous and uncaring way that quote was so causally tossed into the public discourse by the spokesman for the so called American Family Association's radio network Bryan Fischer.  Not only did this feces filled specimen of the so-called "loving" Christian movement utter that nonsense on the airwaves to his audience, he then published it online on the American Family Association's blog page.
Fischer wonders why the AFA has been listed as a 'hate group' by the Southern Poverty Law Center? According to the SPLC;
"The SPLC classifies as hate groups those organizations that it has determined "have beliefs or practices that attack or malign an entire class of people, typically for their immutable characteristics."
I see, well then I think that statement of Fischer's might qualify don't you?
"We know what causes AIDS: homosexual sex and injection drug use. The Centers for Disease Control tell us that of all the males who have been diagnosed with HIV/AIDS since the epidemic started in 1977, 91% contracted it either through having sex with other males or through intravenous drug abuse."
Really Mr. Fischer? Really?  But wait, when referring to funding of Aids research & programs he rants:
"But since we know the cause and the cure, it is a waste of scarce taxpayer funds to spend any more of those dollars in research. The research should instead be funded by private donors and foundations, who are willing to put their money - instead of ours - into the effort.
Let’s not forget that American tobacco manufacturers were forced to cough up over $200 billion because they peddle a product that kills people.
Well, homosexual activist groups likewise are pushing a lifestyle that kills. If anybody should be obligated to pony up funds to mitigate a health crisis, it ought to be the organizations that are responsible for advocating the very behavior that created and perpetuates the epidemic."
I especially like this quip from Mr. Compassion:
"You want to know who the true hate groups in America are, the ones who are sending the most hateful message to gays? The organizations that are showing the most obnoxious form of cold-heartedness are the homosexual activist groups that celebrate lethal behavior."
He then states:
"Pro-family groups are trying to save the same people that the gay lobby is consigning to an early death. Surely we will be accused of lacking compassion. But this is hardly the case. If you care about an individual, and you see that he is involved in a self-destructive pattern of behavior, the most loving thing you can to is appeal to him to start making better lifestyle choices. It is hardly compassionate to urge him to continue to engage in conduct that everybody in the world knows has a good chance of killing him in the end. That, in fact, is a form of cruelty."
It would be way too tiresome to factually dispute each and every onerous error filled statement this pompous and sanctimonious part of the male anatomy makes, but I'd like to  to  point out just a couple of things- First, Genetic research indicates that HIV originated in west-central Africa during the late nineteenth or early twentieth century. AIDS was first recognized by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in 1981 and its cause, HIV, identified in the early 1980s not 1977 as Fischer said.
Now, as much as I'd love to take on the rest of Fischer's drivel, instead I'll just add this final comment, Bryan, you mention a selective statistic to bolster your views, but you neglected to cite related quotes detailing the other demographics that represent the true face of HIV/AIDS: heterosexual men and women, children born to infected mothers, impoverished people with limited access to education, and the list goes on. These people still exist, Bryan, and according to the CDC they account for well over 50% of all new HIV cases reported each year in America. According to WHO, heterosexual people and children make up the vast majority of HIV/AIDS cases world-wide - a demographic quickly growing.
Your data is way off and the philosophy that you and your so-called loving Christian organisation espouse couldn't be more dangerous. HIV/AIDS is not only affecting gay folk, and, even if it were, any public health professional would tell you that cutting off funding in favor of a bizarre "abstinence" program would be disastrous and will not have stand a chance of really working- ever. This man is not a qualified public health official, nor is he capable of proposing real funding solutions to our current economic troubles. Furthermore, his philosophy is antithetical to real prevention and healing.
There never seems to be a limit to the idiocy that pours forth from Fischer and his kind and what's really sad is that there are Americans who listen and believe every word.

Abstinence is not 100% effective, just ask the virgin Mary!

I never fail to shake my head in dismay at these people who have made Christianity into an idolatrous worship of their own false image of a god.

Their immaturity would be funny if it wasn't harming so many people.
