Brody's Scribbles... Agnostic General

By Desmond Rutherford (Adelaide, Australia) DEC 11 | In response to the increasingly misleading claims of Tony Perkins, Brian Brown, Bryan Fisher, and others of similar mindset, the following is issued by the Agnostic General:
Warning: Exposure to religious dogma can lead to irrational thought, loss of mental acuity, homophobia, and a compelling need to condemn anyone who is different. Just one exposure to the contagion of such bigotry can cause shock, suicidal thoughts, mental anguish, and despair for the welfare of the human race. Various brands of bigotry can be found disguised as loving individuals and organisations (often in pulpits, street corners, press releases, and on busses,) usually recognised by their attempt to inflict guilt for perfectly natural human traits to express love, or to convince people that they somehow need saving from fictitious evils. Usually these people can be recognised by their demand for others to practice abstinence, to give them money, or their reference to Scripture and a Lord, (not Darth Vader, even though they often have a remarkable similarity to an evil emperor.)
Life: it gets better without religious indoctrination. Anyone want to help start a "Quit Praying" hotline?

"Quit Praying" hotline? That's going to need some money, and some kind of infrastructure to collect it, and we might need a tax break or two, or three. Then we need an organization to administer those funds, cover our expenses as we develop strong policies, and put our 'rules of conduct' in place. Someone will be needed to guide the 'non-prayers', so recruitment will need to commence soon, and it is best to start with the young, as they have not yet developed their reasoning ability and we can get more of them to convert, er, change, to our way of thinking.

I'm all for it.
