Brody's Scribbles... It's Actually Frightening Once The Layers Are Peeled Away

By Brody Levesque (Washington DC) Apr 27 | It's not often that I find myself being rattled by the news I cover, I mean after-all, I've been reporting on the collective human saga for over three decades now. There's been good stories, there's been bad stories, there's been stories that make you cheer and still others yet that make you jeer. Then, then there are stories that make the hair stand up on the back of your neck and scare the bejesus out of you.
My colleague Rachel Maddow reported last night on her show on MSNBC about one of these horrific stories.  At first glance, it seems like any other political story that is covered daily by those of us who are primarily political journalists, this story entailing details of the recent Anti-Immigrant law enacted by Arizona lawmakers and signed by the Governor of Arizona, Jan Brewer last week. Also referred to by the more liberal of us media folk as the "Papers Please" law. But, not unlike the proverbial peeling of an onion, once the layers are stripped away there are some very ugly truths revealed that should give decent Americans of any political persuasion pause due to the ramifications of the individuals directly responsible for what is quite frankly a racist, damn near Nazi-esque bit of legislation.
