Marchers gather for Austin March Against Hate Photo By Shady Ladies Softball Team
By Brody Levesque (Washington DC) Mar 1 | In a well attended rally this past Saturday in the Texas capital city, the LGBT community marched to show support for two Gay men attacked and beaten the previous weekend. The Austin March Against Hate & Rally commenced at a popular Austin LGBT Bar where the two victims had been with friends that evening and wound through the downtown Warehouse District ending at the city owned parking garage where the two men were attacked by four men shouting Ant-Gay slurs.
According to the Austin Police Department, the Department's North Bureau Detectives seeks the public’s assistance in identifying four suspects involved in an Assault with Injury that occurred on Saturday, February 20, 2010 next to the City Hall parking garage, in the 100 block of Lavaca St, at or around 02:46 a.m. The four suspects were in the area of the Warehouse District possibly going into various clubs in the area. The four suspects were seen standing at the corner of 4th St. and Lavaca around 02:30 am. The four black male suspects were last seen heading northbound on Lavaca St. near 4th St around 02:46 a.m.
