Brody's Scribbles... A Plea From Change.org & CREDO

Supporters of Prop 8 - which took away the right of same-sex couples to marry in California - are fighting to keep televisions out of the courtroom when the law is challenged in federal court.

The court just announced that it is seeking public comment on the proposal to televise the trial - and that all comments must be submitted to the court by Friday morning. Timing is urgent: the federal court challenge to Prop 8 starts this Monday, January 11.

Sign the petition and we'll submit your public comment.

Supporters of marriage equality - including prominent attorneys David Boies and Ted Olson - are seeking to televise the case in the interest of full transparency. They want this historic trial to be watched by as many Americans as possible. We agree.

We have just this one chance to make our voices heard - thousands of Americans calling for equality, transparency and accountability. That's why we're teaming up with CREDO and the Courage Campaign to collect as many signatures as possible asking Judge Vaughn Walker to televise the case. We need your signature now: SIGNATURE DEADLINE: THURSDAY 11:59 p.m. (Pacific Standard Time)

The Courage Campaign has been a leader in the fight to win the freedom to marry in California and nationwide. Together with our partner CREDO, they will hand-deliver your signatures to Judge Walker on Friday before the delivery deadline.

This case presents issues that will affect millions of people. But opponents of same sex marriage want to make their arguments behind closed doors.
